Brightening Someone’s Day: Dillon Beal
Dillon Beal
Game Room Entertainment Supervisor, Incredible Pizza
Dillon Beal has worked at Incredible Pizza for four years. In his role as a Game Room Entertainment Supervisor, he helps customers with the game room and other attractions. In our conversation, Dillon talks about the importance of checking your ego when dealing with customer complaints – and the joy of helping kids and teenagers enjoy their time at Incredible Pizza.
Can you tell me about an experience where you've been able to make someone’s day better?
We had a situation where a customer’s child didn’t meet the height requirement for a particular ride. So I directed them to a section called Tiny Town which caters to toddlers and babies. They were glad to see that we had a bounce house and a little playground area for them.
What kind of experiences have you had working with big groups?
I love working with bigger groups, especially high schoolers, because they're so
young and full of joy. So whenever we're at the go-karts, we get them hyped, they're racing, they're having a great time. And if a situation happens, or if somebody gets hurt, we make sure they're okay and calm everyone down. Other than that, we just make sure it's safe and that they have a great time.
What have you learned in this position?
I have learned that you have to put your pride to the side and make sure you know that when a customer is voicing their problem to you, they're not mad at you, they're just mad at the problem. So you have to fix their problem, make sure they're okay, and don’t take it personally.
What do you like to do in Memphis?
I love going downtown. I love riding the scooters. And I love eating at Hattie B’s Chicken.
Thank you, Dillon, for sharing your experience keeping guests happy and safe!
