Kinsey Luckett is a sales associate at Shelby Farms Park. In addition to selling merchandise in the gift shop, Kinsey serves as a face of the park, welcoming guests and providing them with information. 

What advice would you give to somebody who is new to the hospitality industry? 

Just be personable and authentic.Sometimes people working in hospitality can have a script, but I think it’s important to try to really get to know the person you’re talking to. Make sure they feel welcome and like they’re talking to a real person, not a robot. 

What places and activities do you recommend to people visiting Memphis?

I'm a big basketball fan, so I love going to the FedEx Forum. I go to a lot of the Grizzlies games and always recommend people check them out. I love Overton Park and Shelby Farms Park. Shelby Farms is special if you’re a horse lover like me – this is a great place to take a trail ride. I suggest people check out restaurants downtown, too. 

Any favorite Memphis experiences? 

I really do love the FedEx Forum. Since I was a kid, my parents have taken me there, and it grew a love for sports in me. I grew up playing sports, so I think that's always been a favorite place to make memories.
